During the Grammys in 2021 host, Trevor Noah introduced music sensation Harry Styles as the only man who could “put on a dress and make it on the cover of Vogue magazine…” Well, think again. While working on a book for French couturier Jean Paul Gaultier in 1993, Italian photographer Paolo Roversi asked Parisian model Tanel Bedrossiantz to wear something exciting for the photoshoot. Tanel found a cone-bra dress that fit to a “T”. Roversi took the photo that would shatter the norms of fashion forever.

Tanel has been called the first gender-fluid model in fashion history. In his career, he has worked with some of the most influential people in arts and fashion. The long list includes names like Peter Lindberg, Tony Viramontes and even the Queen of pop, Madonna, who proclaimed Tanel as her favorite model on French TV; arguing he embodied both masculine and feminine energy and form. In this watercolor illustrated biographical documentary, Tanel tells the story in his own voice in a series of video conversations with filmmaker and artist Antonio  Contreras Aviance. Tanel speaks about his incredible career and his take on gender conformity, LGBT culture, challenges in gaining visibility with a heavy dose of his distinctly French sense of humor.

Every one of the 131 outfits in “Exubérance” Has been hand-painted by Antonio Contreras Aviance. The film includes tracks that are sure to become club hits, with an original soundtrack created by music producer, Gehno Aviance also known as “One A”, alongside a special performance by singer Carmelia Toot Bell. This film is as a follow-up to the smash-hit “L’Hommage” which premiered at the iconic Judson Memorial Church in New York City in 2020.
